Privacy Policy — WineScene App

Iron Door Tech (“we”, “us”) makes the WineScene app for iOS and Android. This policy explains what the app does — and does not do — with your information.

What the app does not collect

The app does not collect, store, or share any personal information on its own. It has:

• No user accounts or sign-in (the Create Account and Sign In buttons are a demo — they simply open the app; no account is created and no credentials are sent anywhere)
• No analytics or usage tracking
• No advertising or ad tracking
• No location access (the app never reads your device location)
• No access to your contacts, photos, or files, except photos you choose to add to a Moment, which stay on your device

Information stored on your device only

Your favorites, wine and winery ratings, Moments (photos and captions), membership preview choice, and any winery owner catalog you enter are stored only on your device, using on-device storage. They are never sent to us or to anyone else, and they are deleted if you delete the app.

Map search (ZIP code lookup)

The map screen lets you enter a five-digit US ZIP code to find wineries and tasting rooms nearby. When you tap Find, the app sends only that ZIP code to OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim service (to turn the ZIP code into a location) and to the Overpass API (to find wineries near that location). No name, email, device identifier, or other personal information is sent with the search. The results — nearby wineries, with directions and website links — are shown to you in the app. OpenStreetMap’s own privacy practices apply to that lookup.

If the live lookup is unavailable, the app falls back to its three fictional sample wineries, and no ZIP code is sent anywhere.

Winery owner tools

If you use the Winery Owner Studio to enter a winery profile, wine list, events, or photos, that information is stored only on your device in this version. It is not published, shared, or sent to us. Real winery listings and owner verification require a backend, which this version does not have.

Links to other services

• Get Home Safely links to Uber and Lyft so you can request a ride. Tapping those links opens the Uber or Lyft app or website, and their own privacy policies apply once you leave WineScene.
• Find Sellers (for named wines) opens a web search in your browser. Your browser’s and the search provider’s privacy practices apply.
• Invite Friends opens your device’s own share sheet. Nothing is sent until you choose how to share.
• The app links to irondoortech.net. That website is separate from the app, and its own practices apply when you visit it.

Our website may use cookies and analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Analytics on the website only load after you accept analytics cookies in the cookie banner, and you can decline them. The app itself does not use cookies or analytics.

Purchases

This version has no in-app purchases. The WineScene VIP plan ($9.99/month) is shown as a preview only — tapping “Preview VIP Access” simply unlocks the VIP features on your device for you to try. No payment is taken, no payment information is collected, and it is not a real purchase or subscription.

Children’s privacy and drinking age

WineScene is a wine discovery app for adults of legal drinking age (21 and over in the United States). It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. Please drink responsibly.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the new version here.
